Enabling shift lock is step one. Mastery means maintaining strafe rhythm while reading bomb holder angle, switching between forward and backward strafe without unlocking camera, and diagonal retreat toward map perimeter.

Strafing Drills

Drill A: circle strafe around a stationary friend in lobby — smooth camera tracking. Drill B: backward strafe while facing chaser in FFA. Drill C: diagonal forward-left while eyes on bomb holder — core escape pattern.

Toggle Discipline

Briefly unlock shift lock only for specific camera checks then re-engage. Most rounds should stay shift-locked during chases and evasions.
